What are In-Home Care Services?

CareNetLA’s in-home care services provide you with a caregiver who are certified to help with the activities of daily living for individuals who can no longer do so alone. Activities of daily living are key life tasks that people need to manage to live safely and comfortably at home. This includes cooking meals, housekeeping, bathing, dressing assistance, transportation to appointments, incontinence care, and transferring from bed to wheelchair. Here is a list of our in-home care services:

Choose Hourly Shifts or 24-Hour Shifts

In hourly shifts, we charge a simple, affordable rate for all service hours provided. Typically, hourly shifts may be anywhere from four to nine hours long. When a client needs 24 hour around-the-clock care, and when that client’s care needs are such that there must always be a caregiver awake and available to assist the client when needed, we typically provide care with two 12-hour or three 8-hour shifts each day

With 24-hour shifts (live-in shifts), we charge a lower daily rate for around-the-clock care. These shifts are also known a “live-in” shifts, even though the caregivers do not take up permanent residence in the client’s home. Typically, in “live-in” shifts, there are two caregivers – one for three days, the other for four days. The two caregivers are considered a “team” and will each work on her regularly scheduled days.

Live in arrangements work well when the caregiver is allowed to have adequate time to sleep at night.

Caregiver & Home Healthcare Service Cost

We understand the financials behind in-home caregivers can be confusing and costly. Our personalized are built to stay in budget while still providing the services you need. Here are a few frequently asked questions we have gathered over the years:

Home Much Does it Cost for an In-Home Caregiver?

We need to discuss your needs to give you an exact quote because the cost is based on your personalized Care Plan. For example, a care plan with a higher level of care will lead to slightly higher prices. We promise we will offer competitive rates compared to other agencies. CareNetLA’s philosophy is “Higher Quality Care at a Lower Price”. If you are with another agency, we can almost always save you money. Our prices are about 10% lower per hour than other agencies. If you need 24/7 care, we guarantee we can save you money. Our prices are usually 40% lower than other agencies for 24/7 care.

*** In accordance with California State Law, client understands that CarenetLA must abide by all prevailing labor laws including overtime. Client agrees to pay overtime rates (time and a half) when a caregiver has exceeded nine normal hours in a given day or forty-five hours in a given week.

Does Insurance Cover Home Caregivers?

It depends on the type of insurance. The most common insurance is long-term care insurance, which is a form of life insurance. Long-term care insurance is designed to cover the costs of home care, assisted living, and nursing homes. If you have a long-term care insurance policy, we have considerable experience working with many different long-term care insurance carriers and we can help you navigate the process of setting up home care and getting reimbursed through your long-term care insurance.

Unfortunately, Medical Insurance such as Medicare does not cover the cost of Home Care because they deem it to be non-medical. We think this is unfortunate because so many people could use a little help from their Medical Insurance. There is hope it may change in the future because some politicians have discussed expanding government coverage for caregiving services. We think it is a critical issue and we will provide updates on our website.

How to Apply to Become a Caregiver?
